Cam all but guarantees that the draft class will go down as legendary after 1 pick while making cracks about “we need thumbs that go in this direction”.

and of course the first thing he says about taking Ginn over Quinn “I’ve known the Ginn family for 10 years”. Cam might have gotten some of those thumbs up if he hadn’t let his friendship with a family make the pick for him.

Thank god they got the tuna to make the picks or Cam would have pushed for his godson who punts for Oklahoma Panhandle State.

Pac Man didn’t get off easy

13 11 2007

I’m sure a lot of people will complain that Pacman Jones got probation for the shit he pulled in Vegas, but we here at BSS see it  differently.    Pacman (who has more arrests than NFL interceptions) will without a doubt violate his probation. This is a good as a prison sentence.

So, Are they Contenders Now?

13 11 2007

After a dominating 34-0 showing against the streaking but one-dimensional Minnesota Vikings, can the Packers finally be considered full-blown contenders? At 7-1, there was still plenty of doubt surrounding this young and often inexperienced team. With only a handful of players over the age of 30, and very few with big game experience, there was good reason for questioning if this team was good enough to be considered as good as their record makes them look. Boston Celtics, The Real Deal.

8 11 2007

Many people had their doubts, Many people said it can’t work out. Well the Big 3 Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen seemed to have it made… So far. At one point during the game against the Nuggets the C’s had a lead of 41 points. If you thought the Celtics where over the moon with that type of performance you think again, Here is what Paul Pierce had to say after the 118-93 win.

“We are just scratching the surface on what we can do, We enjoy seeing the next player make a great play and no one cares who gets credit.”

Key Stats

Points: Pierce 26

Rebounds: Garnett 13

Assists:  Garnett 7

Can we expect even more against the Young and exciting Hawks who took care of business against the Phoenix Suns.

Spiritfuck: The Joba Chamberlain story

1 08 2007

Generally speaking, collegiate pitchers progress through the minors faster than international prospects or high school draftees. Joba Chamberlain is no different – having graduated a Husker no more than a year ago and was signed in a sandwich pick by the New York Yankees.

In addition to coaching some of the best teams of all time, Walsh was one of a select group that can say they changed the game of football significantly.

Very sad news. Our thoughts go out to his family.

Holy shit, Big Al might stay even if KG comes

30 07 2007

As you may know the Kevin Garnett to the Celtics trade talks are back in full force. It was said that the Celtics best young player Al Jefferson was going to Minnesota, which made sense from the Timberwolves viewpoint.

But then this happened

Shira Springer on the Boston Globe’s website

“Kevin Garnett soon could become the newest member of the Celtics, multiple league sources said this afternoon, but two of the sources cautioned that any trade may not be as imminent as some early reports indicated.

As the trade currently stands, the Celtics would send Gerald Green, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair, Theo Ratliff, and two first-round picks to the Timberwolves for Garnett.

Al Jefferson is not included in the deal at the moment.”

Even as someone who loves Ryan Gomes,

GET IT DONE DANNY!
