Cam all but guarantees that the draft class will go down as legendary after 1 pick while making cracks about “we need thumbs that go in this direction”.

and of course the first thing he says about taking Ginn over Quinn “I’ve known the Ginn family for 10 years”. Cam might have gotten some of those thumbs up if he hadn’t let his friendship with a family make the pick for him.

Thank god they got the tuna to make the picks or Cam would have pushed for his godson who punts for Oklahoma Panhandle State.

So, Are they Contenders Now?

After a dominating 34-0 showing against the streaking but one-dimensional Minnesota Vikings, can the Packers finally be considered full-blown contenders? At 7-1, there was still plenty of doubt surrounding this young and often inexperienced team. With only a handful of players over the age of 30, and very few with big game experience, there was good reason for questioning if this team was good enough to be considered as good as their record makes them look. In addition to coaching some of the best teams of all time, Walsh was one of a select group that can say they changed the game of football significantly.

Chauncey Billups has re-signed with the Detroit Pistons at 5 years, 60 Million dollars ESPNEWS reports.

Update: It’s a “vicious rumor” according to Billups’ agent. It will be interesting to see if this turns Billups against returning

Top 5 reasons you can’t blame the Celtics for trading for Ray Allen

 

One of my favorite television shows is “The top 5 reasons you can’t blame“. It takes a look at historical issues where a team or figure has been made a scapegoat for a situation. The show lists 5 reasons that look at other contrbuting factors, forgotten circumstances, or other guilty parties. As host Brian Kenny puts it “Our mission is to re-examine what has been accepted as fact”

I’m gonna take a crack at doing one of these myself.

Well, the initial reviews of last nights trade between the Sonics and Celtics are in and if you listen to the pundits, the Celtics made the stupidest trade ever.

While there are some who like the deal many are saying Ainge has screwed the team for a long time. I disagree. Here are some reasons why it’s was a good deal

Ray Allen offered to Celtics?

At least that is what KJR-AM reported

KJR-AM radio reported that the Sonics offered Ray Allen to the Boston Celtics for the fifth pick and Theo Ratliff.

Getting Allen for that price would be a steal considering what the price for other stars has supposedly been. This would also calm down Paul Pierce

3. Atlanta – Mike Conley Jr. – Call him a reach but after passing up CP3 and Deron Williams this must be done. Hawk’s FO is not giving up on either of the Williams yet and Conley would finally give them a true franchise PG.

Rumors persist that the Celtics are trying to get Kevin Garnett. That’s nice. What isn’t nice is the price. Al Jefferson and the #5 pick seem to be involved. That’s not nice.
